Daily Chess Improvement: Serious Game Evaluation Improvement!

This was an actual game between Vittal, Sanjana and Yu, Jennifer (2018 US Girls Championship)

It is white to move. How would you evaluate this position? Which side is better? And what should be white's plan? How should white proceed?

This is NOT a 1 - 2 move analysis. Take your time to analyze it and see if you can come up with the right plan.

White came up with the wrong idea in the actual game and was basically lost instantly.

I guess if I were white I would put the queen on b3 with the first move, but the position is extremely complicated. It might continue: 1.Qb3 g6 2.a3 gf5 3.ab4 Bb5 4.Rh3 a6 5.Rg3+ Rg6 but I am in deep doubt about the quality of some of the moves.

No comments so far. Interesting. At a glance, I can see the problems with 1.Bxc8- black recaptures with the queen, and now black can threaten the dangerous 2.....Nd3. I don't see much for white but to try to exchange the queens with 2.Qh3. For example: 1.Bc8?Qc8 2.Qh3 Nd3! 3.Qc8 Rc8 4.Rh2 Nf2+ 5.Ke1 Nd3+ 6.Kd1 Nb2+ 7.Ke1 Bb4 and black is clearly better.
