You have to force the black king to commit to going after the c5 pawn- you do this by going for the c6 pawn, but you have to choose the right path for the white king because you need to be able to play Kb4 when the black king has reached d5. Trial and error is how I found the right first move, and I admit, it wasn't my first choice either.
