Daily Chess Improvement: Very instructive chess endgame!

This was an actual chess game between amateur player Do v GM Shabalov last night

If black can trade off the knights, this chess game would be an easy win for black. Therefore, white would obviously try to avoid that. But how can white hold this chess game? Is it possible? How should white proceed?

Yes, 1.Ng7- from h5, the knight can only be driven away by the black knight from f6 and g7 which the white king can control when necessary, and from f4 and g3- but on g3 the black knight blocks the pawn, and from f4 the white king has time to reach f5 double covering f4.
