An international chess champion is set to take on all comers — at the same time — at the Imperial Centre next month.
Jude Acers, U.S. World chessmaster and former Eastern North Carolina resident, will show off the skills that put him in the record books by playing simultaneous games of chess at the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences.
Acers is in the “Guinness Book of World Records” for playing against 179 opponents simultaneously.
“Checkmate Rocky Mount” will take place Oct. 8 starting at 1 p.m.
...Rules for simultaneous play and registration are attached to the online version of this story at www.rockymounttelegram.com.
