Talented tennis player Paul Truong first picked up a racquet at the age of five and hasn’t stopped swinging since.

The Wakeley native has been training under the guidance of high performance coach Joe Porley at Brenan Park Tennis Centre, Smithfield, for the past five years and is now ranked fifth in the state, and 20th in Australia, in his age group.

Mr Porley said Paul, 11, was constantly looking for ways to better himself.

“Paul is very good at finding ways to unsettle his opponents with
different spins, change of pace and general tactical awareness!”
