The Russian Higher League Chess Championship is a 9-round Swiss Open chess tournament taking place in the Ring Premier Hotel in Yaroslavl from 26 June to 5 July 2018.
The top five chess players in the tournament will qualify for the 2018 Russian Chess Championship Superfinal. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 chess moves, then 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1.
No draw offers are allowed before move 40 so we can expect exciting chess. The overall chess prize fund is 5 million roubles, or around 70,000 euros.
