College Chess has been around in the United States for more than 100 years. However, the PanAm InterCollegiate Chess Championships only began in 1946, and 2018 was the 65th time this event was held.

Webster University holds the record of 7 consecutive titles from its chess inception in 2012. Webster has won every single year.
