Webster University Announces 2017-2018 #1 Ranked Chess Team

ST. LOUIS – Webster University is pleased to present its top-ranked chess team for the 2017-2018 academic year. Led by Head Coach Susan Polgar and Coach and Chief Strategist Paul Truong, the team promises to be another year as the lead contender in all upcoming tournaments.
This is the 6th season for Polgar and Truong and the SPICE (Susan Polgar Institute of Chess Excellence) Chess Team at Webster University. The team has held its #1 ranking for over 360 consecutive weeks, as well as winning 5 PanAm and 5 Final Four Championships in a row with a perfect 15-0 record. The SPICE team also won 2 Final Four Championships while at Texas Tech University, totaling 7 straight titles.
The Webster University SPICE Chess Team has held multiple titles since August 2012 – 2 World Championships, Olympiad Gold, 4 World Open Championships & 47 National Titles.
